The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the academic year 1994 - 1995 with an intake of 60 students. The intake is enhanced to 120 from the academic year 2004 -2005 and to 180 from the academic year 2013-2014. Department was offering M.Tech in Power Systems Engineering from the academic year 2004-2005 with an intake of 18 students. The EEE department has well experienced 46 Teaching Staff and 10 Non - Teaching Staff. Faculty of EEE department is specialized in the core areas of Electrical and Electronics Engineering like Power systems, Electrical Machines and Industrial Drives, Power Electronics, Control Systems, High Voltage Engineering etc. Department was accredited thrice by National Board of Accreditation of AICTE first in the year 2002 with A-Grade for five years, in 2007 for three years and in 2012 for two years.

To impart education leading to highly competent professionals in the field of Engineering who are globally competent and to make the Department a Centre for Excellence.

Integrated development of professionals with knowledge and skills in the field of specialization, ethics and values needed to be employable in the field of Electrical Engineering and contribute to the economic growth of the employing organization and pursue lifelong learning.

1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

The graduate of the program will be able to demonstrate

1. Knowledge and hands on competence in developing, Testing, Operation and Maintenance of Electrical & Electronics systems.
2. Knowledge and hands on competence in Modern Engineering tools to engage in life-long learning and to successfully adapt in multi disciplinary environments.
3. Knowledge in Project Management techniques, environmental issues and Green technologies.

On behalf of our students, faculty and staff, it is my great pleasure to welcome you and invite you to discover the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at R.V. R & J. C College of Engineering. The Department was established in the year 1994 with a starting intake of 60. We have a rich history and an outstanding record of contributions to the profession and community. I am honored to be the part of Electrical and Electronics Engineering department at R.V. R & J. C College of Engineering. The Department offers UG and PG programmes, namely B.Tech in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and M.Tech in Power Systems Engineering. The Department currently has a team of 46 Faculty along with 10 supporting staff, about 828 undergraduate students and 36 postgraduate students. We have over 11 laboratories with advanced equipment and facilities for supporting our teaching and research. It is envisioned to strengthen the quality of its faculty, research and teaching facilities, as well as student's academic performance.

Electrical & Electronics Engineering Education has always been dynamic and in tune with the current development as well as innovations in creating new technology.
