THE VISION

from the President's Office,

President

LibraryI welcome you to the website of R.V.R. & J.C. College of Engineering, a Guntur based institution of Higher Learning, training Under-graduate and Post-graduate students in Engineering and Management for award of Degree from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur.

Being in the Silver Jubilee Year 2010-11, this Premier Institution of Technology and Management is the largest of all the eight institutions promoted and managed by Nagarjuna Education Society (Regd.-1967) and significantly contributed to heighten the reputation of the society.

Responding to the nation’s call for private initiative in expanding Technological Education, as the primary requisite for industrialization, a few well meaning citizens of Guntur district have come forward to donate the initial capital needed to start the College in 1985.  Their strong commitment had seen through the inherent initial problems and the College grew into an institution with a difference.  The problems of limited resources to meet the development compulsions have been overcome with economic and efficient management of the available resources during the first decade. By 1995, with the addition of new courses and enhanced intake in the existing courses, the College had become self-reliant in finances, besides recording significant growth in academic infrastructure.  By the turn of millennium, a reasonably good financial reserves too have been built up.  My Management colleagues have greatly contributed for the growth of the institute, notable among them being late Jagarlamudi Chandramouli, Dr.K.Sadasvia Rao, late G.Rama Rayudu and those among the present executive that are with the society since 1967.  It is with the work culture that was nurtured and sustained over the last 32 years, the College had come out unscathed through the problems that are consequent to varying demand-supply situations.  Today the self-propelled institution is tenacious enough to absorb any variable-cause system.

The 1990’s projected the Private Engineering Colleges as a profitable proposition with an unprecedented demand for Engineering Education in the country.  There were too many aspirants chasing too few seats.  Numerous Engineering Colleges have come into being with inadequate infrastructure and staff.  After 2005, the trend suddenly reversed; there were too many colleges and too few seekers.  This reversal of situation in Private Engineering Colleges has pushed them into a defensive position. Survival of the Colleges with diminished resources and rising expenditures have seriously affected the quality standards and virtually development had come to halt in newer institutions, not to mention of the zero-enrolment in many.

With some Colleges resorting to unethical practices like reduced Tuition Fee and sacrificing academic quality, managing an Engineering Institute in the hyper-competitive situation has become difficult.  Through well established work culture and adherence to our core principles, the institution could virtually insulate itself from the volatility of the variable cause-system due to external factors.  The R.V.R. & J.C. College of Engineering could retain its position of eminence among the fraternity of Private Engineering institutions and has reason to take a little pride in its Silver Jubilee Year.
