Department of Physical Education:
The Physical Education Department of RVR&JC college of engineering has been established in 1985. It took the responsibility not only to provide the necessary infrastructure that helps the students to inculcate good habit of playing games but also to develop the sportsmanship and comradeship. The college had demarked five acres of land for Outdoor games namely: Cricket, Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Ball Badminton, Throw Ball, Tennycoit and multi purpose ground for Soft Ball, Foot Ball and Hockey. The college is provided with Indoor games also in an area of nearly 300 Sq.m, which is furnished with Gymnasium and accommodating the indoor games like Table Tennis, Caroms, Chess etc., to horn the skills in the respective games as well as to enhance the physical fitness of the students and faculty. Annual Intramural Tournaments in various games and sports are being conducted for the students as well as for the staff . Routinely and the Prizes will be distributed on the Annual day celebrations. From the inception of the college, the Department is proudly associated in helping to conduct the Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) Inter Collegiate Tournaments . The college teams in Cricket , Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Shuttle Badminton and Tennis etc., won in most of the tournaments respectively . Till date, over one hundred and ten students of the college represented the ANU Inter University Tournaments and brought laurels to the Institute. The Physical Director of the Department has been consistently appointed as Manager cum Coach for ANU Inter University Tournaments. He was a member of Technical official committee for World Badminton Championship held at Hyderabad. He is been regularly appointed as a member of the Advisor Committee for the A.N. University and other Tournaments held in our State, Andhra pradesh. In future also, the Department will continuously show the same enthusiasm to encourage and groom the students with highly motivated sportsmanship.

Activities of the Department- Preparation of play fields for the use of players from time to time.
- Conduct of Selection trials to pick-up talented players for participation at Inter Collegiate tournaments of Acharya Nagarjuna University, practice matches and invitation tournaments of students and staff.
- Coaching provide to the participation teams.
- Providing games and sports material for the regular practice.
- Calling quotations for the purchase of quality sports material.
- Attending University Tournament and General Body meeting of Acharya Nagarjuna University.
- Organising practice matches for different events from time to time.
- Sending outstanding players for participation at National Level events, Tournaments and also for the coaching camps.
- Providing sports Uniform for the students for participation in the different tournaments.
- Financial support to the outstanding sports persons to participate in International/National level tournaments.
- Conducting intramural games and sports competitions for men and women students separately in Volleyball, Table tennis, Chess, Badminton, Throw ball, Tennicoit, Athletics events.
- Conducting intramural games and sports competitions for the staff of the college both teaching and non-teaching (men and women) separately.
- Presenting meritorious certificates and mementoes to the winners and runners in intramural competitions for students and staff on COLLEGE ANNUAL SPORTS DAY celebrations.
- Providing T.A , D.A and sports uniform to the college team players for participation at inter-collegiate and other recognized tournaments.
- Grant of attendance to the participating students in the competitions.
