Research & Development

EEE Department Faculty involves themselves in active research in the area of Electrical Engineering with broad themes. The faculty also collaborates with researchers in Industry and Academic Institutions to pursue interdisciplinary topics. The current research activities of the department are grouped into the following themes.

Power Systems :The current research in this area focuses on topics such as Power Systems Analysis, Computerized Control, Security Assessment and Emergency Control, Voltage Stability, Intelligent Monitoring, Applications of soft Computing Techniques, Computer-Aided Protection, Design of Distribution Systems, Distribution Automation, FACTS and VAR Control, Deregulated Power System Operation, Energy Conservation, Study of Demand side Management, Distributed Generation.

Power Electronics:
Research in this area focuses on topics such as Power Conversion, Power Quality, Multi Level Inverters and PWM Techniques, Digital Control of Industrial Drives, DSP Controller Development, Distributed Generation Using Power Converters and for Power Quality, Multi Level Inverter Applications to Power Systems & Drives etc.

UGC sanctioned Rs 9,22,000/- to Dr. K. Chandra Sekhar under the scheme Major Research Project (MRP) for the research project titled " Control Technique for dual Inverter fed Open end Winding Induction Motor" . The research project in progress and the equipment is yet to be procured.
